Jackson Rowe’s Hard Hat Safety

27 February 2025

It’s time to check your hard hats!

Regularly inspecting hard hats is essential to ensure they provide proper protection and are still within their recommended lifespan. Exposure to sunlight, chemicals and daily wear can weaken both the shell and suspension system, compromising safety. Most manufacturers advise replacing hard hats every five years, with the suspension system changed every 12-18 months. At Jackson Rowe we always check the manufacturing date, usually stamped inside the hat, and regularly check for cracks, dents, fading or brittleness. If a hard hat shows any signs of damage, or has exceeded its lifespan, replace it immediately to maintain workplace safety.
