We are experienced in co-ordinating designers and architects during the development management process, from the management of concept design solutions, through to the detailed designs required. We also work alongside architects resolving PI design claims in support manner or as an expert witness.
We often work alongside barristers in our dispute services. Whether that be by instructing a barrister on behalf of a client to assist with the legal aspects of a claim or defence we are managing, or, when providing expert evidence in litigation or arbitration.
We work alongside a variety of affiliated consultancies to provide multi-disciplinary expert services in technical specialisms such as structural engineering, fire engineering and the like. We are also happy to work alongside our clients chosen technical experts to provide expert witness testimony that is supported by technical expert evidence.
Our main focus in terms of our service delivery offering is to provide development management and co-ordination services on large scale development projects where several developers have created a consortium on a project due to the size and scale of the development itself. Our people also have experience of being jointly instructed by consortium developers to carry out claim / defence preparation and / or expert witness services.
We also provide development management services to large UK developers and smaller individual developers on projects, where commercial and construction management solutions are required. Our people have experience being instructed to provide expert witness evidence, by some of the largest UK developers.
We are also experienced in providing services to financial institutions in construction works on their properties and portfolio’s (particularly where distressed assets are concerned), providing both service delivery support including rectification of defects and dilapidated buildings and providing dispute services.
We are experienced in providing development management services to some of the largest UK housebuilders and are also often instructed to provide expert evidence in disputes between the housebuilders and their supply chains.
Our disputes team are experienced in providing claim and defence support and / or expert evidence in large national and international infrastructure projects, incorporating road, rail, water and power disputes.
It is not uncommon for us to support insolvency practitioners in assessing defective workmanship claims and final accounts for contractors encountering insolvency issues and providing expert witness evidence in insolvency proceedings.
We often work alongside insurance providers and provide expert witness evidence in disputes relating to negligence PI negligence claims, defective workmanship claims, third party interventions (such as party wall disputes), fire and water damage claims.
Several members of our team began their careers with main contractors and we are often instructed by main contractors to assist them in closing out final accounts, providing claim and defence to counterclaim support on their construction projects. On occasions we can also be involved in providing expert witness evidence or counterclaim / defence support in disputes between private clients and their supply chain.

Whilst we can be involved in the procurement stage of a project using our service delivery teams working alongside solicitors, a large part of our dispute service involves working with solicitors either instructed by us on behalf of a client when managing a dispute, or, when instructed to provide expert evidence in mediation, adjudication, litigation or arbitration for one of their clients.
We are often involved in the management of trade contractors on behalf of developers as part of our service delivery offering. We are also instructed by trade contractors to assist them in closing out final accounts, providing claim and defence to counterclaim support on their construction projects, when in disputes with main contractors and developers. We are also often involved in providing expert witness evidence in proceedings instructed on behalf of trade contractors.
